I agree on your point that big name players sometimes get away with things, Bale in the Wales/ROI game was a another example.

As to Gazza, how had he been sent off in that cup final would have been a life changing experience is beyond me, bloke was a nutter and had issues back then, but it seems after his football career finished that he really went downhill.

Sydney if you think Gascoigne's life could be much worse than it is then I'd love to hear how.
My point was about big name players getting preferential treatment cause it would "ruin" the game, now that is fucking bollocks

Gascoigne should have been sent off for putting his studs in someones chest.
The second tackle was at least a second yellow.
Should have been sent off on his stretcher and Spurs down to 10 which almost certainly would have given Forest the cup
ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS

"Reminds me of the 1991 Cup final, if Gascoigne had been sent off for the first foul (as he should have been) his entire life could have been not quite so disastrous"

What bollocks, he could also have been much worse, topped himself perhaps, but on the other hand it could have been the wake up call he needed and he would now be manager of the current world cup holders, England.........................

Yup. That's my point

because if Wales were down to 10 men with Bale sent off, they would have been a lot more careful about possibly ending up with 9.

Simple

I get the point about Gazza as he wouldn't have been on the pitch to commit the foul on Charles but how would Bale not being on the pitch have prevented Coleman and Taylor coming together?

re Colemam's injury, if he had sent Bale off then it would never have happened.
Reminds me of the 1991 Cup final, if Gascoigne had been sent off for the first foul (as he should have been) his entire life could have been not quite so disastrous.
Officials in thrall to superstars, fucking pathetic

I've seen a close up photo of it. Sickening, reminded me of Jim Beglin's break.

His leg went floppy.

Might be a fitness doubt for the next Everton game.

At least they seem to give a fuck, even if they are only Welsh or Irish so they can play international football unlike some Englishman…………………

I went there for the England friendly the other year. Whoever came up with/approved that ridiculous idea needs their head tested.
